Kitchen 6 at JW Marriott Marquis …
As we are all too aware Dubai is home to many landmark buildings, we have the tallest building in the world and now we have the tallest hotel in the world. Not a surprise by any means that the Marriott Group would choose Dubai to build their tallest hotel so just before Christmas I took a little trip down to Business Bay to see what all the fuss was about.
Once we had figured out how to get in, the entrance is actually at the back of the building that you see from the Sheik Zayed Road, we are met with an array of valet men and a huge foyer, very impressive entrance I have to say. We made our way to Kitchen 6, the hotel’s International all day dining option. First impressions ….. HUGE, I think one of the Chef’s told me there are over 350 covers, and of course there are 6 open kitchens featuring Asia, India, Europe and the Middle East.
I headed straight to the salad bar in the search of seafood and salad, and I wasn’t disappointed, fabulous array of mouth-watering salads to choose from. It is so nice to see that someone has thought outside of the box and come up with some different food combinations like fried egg-plant and goat cheese salad, spiced turkey salad with figs, smoked halibut and balsamic onion and my favourite of the day bacon and egg salad. For main course I had the roast leg of lamb with seasonal vegetables and roasties, very good roasties I might add. Mitten had some amazing butter chicken curry with rice and poppodums, whilst my friend had opted for some fabulous bread crumbed lamb chops. There was literally too many desserts to choose from so we had a little bit of everything, Mitten especially enjoyed the Chocolate Fountain (sadly I found this way too watery).
Like all new outlets it is going to take time for this one to settle into its skin, the Staff I have been told have been brought in from different Marriott’s in Dubai so it won’t take long before we start to feel a buzz about Kitchen 6. If you do decide to try Kitchen 6 take a jacket with you, it’s not the warmest of restaurants.
You can find more information about JW Marriott Marquis Dubai via their website, you can also find them on Facebook and Twitter. There are also more photographs on my Facebook page.

Hi Debbie,
did it have a fair selection of all the cuisines? what all did u find from asia and india? also if i may ask how much do they charge per person? thanks
yes they did have a good selection from Asia and India, the price I think is 160 a head but call ahead to check, they were on opening promo at 99 AED when I visited.
I think it’s still in ‘soft opening’ mode isn’t it? Interesting to read one of the first reports.
