Bateaux Dubai High Tea

A few months ago I won a competition on the Bateaux Dubai Facebook page for High Tea for two on the amazing Bateaux Dubai.  I have done this High Tea before and loved it so was over the moon to be able to experience it again, I have actually done it four times now, it’s a great afternoon experience and a fabulous way to see Dubai Creek.

The Bateaux Dubai is moored opposite/adjacent (Bur Dubai side)  the British Embassy on the Creek, we boarded the vessel at 3 pm and set sail for a short, but long enough trip round the Creek.  On arrival we were greeted by a more than enthusiastic Imran who recognised us immediately from previous trips. After being shown to our table we were offered a nice cool fruit cocktail.  Following this we were were offered Tea or Coffee, various different types and Mitten was delighted to be getting a hot chocolate.

At 3.30 pm on the dot the Bateaux left its mooring and headed up towards the Garhoud Bridge before doubling back and cruising up the Creek for 45 minutes.   During which time we were presented with a fabulous tray of sweet and savoury treats, and some freshly baked scones with home-made jam and cream.  I would love to say clotted cream but sadly it isn’t but I would imagine that is pretty difficult to get a hold of here in Dubai.  After enjoying our High Tea I headed out onto the Deck to take some photographs of the Creek.

I am guessing most of you are probably thinking, in this weather? at this time of year?  are you mad?  well I have to say it was fabulous out on the Deck, a strong breeze kept us cool and there are various shaded areas that you can sit in and enjoy the cruise.  We had a fabulous time and will definitely be visiting the Bateaux Dubai again, maybe to try one of their evening cruise dinners next time!!

The cost of the High Tea Cruise is 150 AED pp, you can find more information about all their cruises via this link.  You can also find Bateaux Dubai on Facebook and on Twitter too, and if you want to see more photo’s of our afternoon Creek Side you can find them on my Facebook page.

Enjoy!!

To avoid confusion, may I suggest you write “adjacent”, as many will interpret opposite as being over on Deira side! :-)

Occasionally clotted cream has been seen in Spinney dairy chiller section, not too sure of the quality, as no one has ever accepted my invitation to come home and sample my clotted cream teas. :-(
